Welcome to the Rulerr Developer Documentation.

If you are looking for information on how to integrate your product with Rulerr, you are in the right place.

Anyone can integrate a product with Ruler; in fact we actively encourage you to integrate any external product you choose with Rulerr, we may even pay you to integrate your product(s).


Getting Started

To integrate your product with Rulerr follow these steps:

  1. Sign up for a Developer account here
  2. Add your products to your developer account
  3. Integrate your product with Rulerr Access and/or Rulerr People

We recommend you read the following sections, which will give you an overview of Rulerr and how to integrate with it.


Get Started Integrating

Rulerr offers two options for integrating a product with Rulerr

  1. Access Privileges
  2. People

Access Privilege integration

Rulerr gives its customers the ability to view, manage and collaborate on access privileges for all the products they use. You can integrate any product with Rulerr Access, to do this check out the Rulerr Access Privilege API docs. You can also (optionally) integrate with the Rulerr Single Sign-On API (coming soon).

Rulerr offers customers Audit Log and Analytics. Integration with these Rulerr products is automatic.

People Integration

Rulerr People is the central store of a customer's people and groups.

Keeping Human Resources, Payroll, or any people management software in sync with Rulerr is very important for making sure that access privileges reflect a persons status within the organization. When someone leaves the organization, access privileges should be immediately revoked. When someone moves departments or roles, their access privileges should reflect that. Integration people management software with Rulerr people helps solve these issues.

For Human Resources, Payroll, or any people management software, Rulerr allows you to integrate your product with Rulerr People, so your product can add, edit or modify people and groups in Rulerr. To integrate software with Rulerr People, check out our API documentation here

Rulerr offers customers Audit Log and Analytics. Integration with these Rulerr products is automatic.

Audit Log

Rulerr Audit Log provides Rulerr customers a log of everything that has happened in Rulerr. It is used for legal compliance and other compliance requirements and is an integral part of Enterprise Software.

Integration with Audit Log is automatically implemented by Rulerr.

Analytics

Analytics provides Rulerr customers with reports and also analyses everything happening in Rulerr and software integrated with it (in real time) looking for usual usage patterns and other interesting events.

Single Sign-On

Single Sign-On allows Rulerr Customers to use Rulerr as their central authentication point for all the products they use.

It is recommended that you integrate with Rulerr Single Sign-On when it becomes available, you can read more about it here


Official/Unofficial API status

To achieve Official API status you must:

  1. Prove you are the software vendor
  2. Integrate your product fully with Rulerr Access Privileges, including all optional integrations available at the time.
